This Privacy Policy explains how Calories Check handles information when you use the app.
1. Information we collect
Calories Check may process food photos you choose or capture, AI analysis results, anonymous account identifiers, subscription and purchase data, quota usage, technical logs, and local meal history saved on your device.
2. How we use information
Information is used to analyze food photos, return estimated nutrition results, show scan history and summaries, verify subscriptions, manage scan quotas, secure the service, prevent abuse, and improve reliability. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Data storage
Meal history may be stored locally on your device. Server-side quota, transaction, and security records may be retained as reasonably necessary to operate paid features, prevent fraud, enforce limits, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Food photos and AI processing
When you request an analysis, your selected food photo may be uploaded to our backend and sent to an AI service provider for image analysis. The result is used to generate estimated food names, calories, macros, health score, and suggestions.
5. Third-party services
Calories Check may use third-party services such as Apple, Firebase or Google Cloud, OpenAI or another AI service provider, and hosting providers for app distribution, purchases, authentication, quota records, AI analysis, infrastructure, logs, and security.
6. Payments and subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card number. We may receive transaction and subscription status data from Apple to unlock paid features and manage scan quota.
7. AI estimates and health disclaimer
Calories Check provides AI-generated nutrition estimates only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, dietary, or professional nutrition advice. Always consult a qualified professional for health or dietary decisions.
8. Children’s privacy
Calories Check is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
